Explain the existing force between two parallel conductors ( current carrying conductor ) .
Ans :-    When two current carrying conductor are parallel to each other, a mechanical force acts on each conductors .
This force is established due to the magnetic field produced by this two conductors. If the currents are in the same direction, the forces are attractive. If the currents are in the opposite direction, the forces are repulsive.
This phenomenon is illustrated below by drawing magnetic field produced by each conductor.
(a). CURRENT IN THE SAME DIRECTION :------
Consider two parallel conductors A & B carrying current in the same direction ( upward ) as shown in figure 4(a)

These two conductor will set up their own magnetic field as shown in figure 4(a).

The field strength in the space between the two conductors is decreased due to the two fields are acting in opposite direction to each other and so the two conductors are attracted towards each other. Hence the resultant field distribution will be as shown in figure 4(b).
(b) CURRENT IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION :----------
Consider two parallel conductor C & D carrying current in the opposite direction as shown in figure 4(c).

These two conductor will set up their own magnetic field as shown in figure 4 (c). The field strength in the space between the two conductor is increased due to the two fields are acting in same direction to each other and so the two conductors repelled to each other..
